Grade II listed barn with partly reconstructed cart shed and derelict adjoining building.
Planning and listed building permission required the careful preservation and reintroduction of various timber framing, and repair and alteration to old brickwork, to restore the building back to its original state.
All floor joists, beams and timber trusses had to be sourced and constructed to re-form the structure of the barn. Modern insulation and finishes were then installed to create a very energy efficient building.
The building has under floor heating and cast-iron radiators installed ready for ground source heating in the near future. The property is fed by its own private bore hole and utilises a water storage system complete with UV and water filters.
Several large oak staircases were designed to take full advantage of the large proportions of the building.
